Project Title: North Key Largo Utility at Ocean Reef Club

Replacement and Demolition of Utility Housing

Scope of Service: The Ocean Reef Club replaced the existing structure currently housing the Club's Reverse Osmosis (RO) skids and pumps located at the Service Village. The new RO Building project was delivered using the design-build delivery method in conjunction with the Wade Trim Engineering Firm. The project was delivered while the equipment currently in the building remains in service. The new building will be 65-feet wide and 80-feet long constructed of steel structural members and sheet metal skin components. The new building was constructed over the existing building. As the existing equipment electrical and controls components were relocated to mount onto the new building, the old structure was dismantled and removed. The new building was designed and constructed to meet all applicable building codes. U.S. Water Services provided support engineering services, and critical operating services during the construction and demolition phases of the project. During the construction, process equipment requires shutdown, some relocation and immediate re-start to minimize, or eliminate, customer service interruption. Close coordination between U.S. Water Services and Wade Trim, coupled with U.S. Water Services vast utility related experience ensured successful completion of this project. Construction sequencing with utility operations oversight was imperative under the project requirements.
