Maintenance and Construction Supervisor

USW Utility Group d.b.a. U.S. Water is a fast paced and rapidly expanding company headquartered in New Port Richey, Florida with a staff of over 500 employees in six states.

The purpose of this position is to conduct and supervise manual and skilled labor, for lift station and water distribution repair/rehabilitation projects. This is accomplished by removing from the wet well pumps and pump bases, vertical riser pipe and pump guide rails. Remove valve vault, horizontal piping, check and gate valves. Then install all new material and equipment. Build forms to pour concrete slabs. Bolt header pipe and valves together. Setup by-pass pumping, tie-in header system to force main. Installing or repairing fire hydrants, new water meters, and main extensions. Order construction material, call in for permits, DOT and locates. Other duties include performing safety inspections and documentation; scheduling training for staff; utilizing heavy construction equipment; maintaining equipment; manage p-card statements and correspond with engineers, contractors, etc.

  1. Completing administrative and planning duties such as: providing proposals; ordering locates; filling out paperwork for right-of-way permitting material takeoffs; setting up bypass; setting up RTU floats; setting up vacuum trucks; injecting leaking wet wells; working under a schedule; contacting subcontractors; and verifying material deliveries.
  2. Construction and labor duties such as, but not limited to building header piping system; shoveling rock; digging holes for tie-ins; using a wheel barrel; picking control panels up; unloading trucks; moving materials into the warehouse; communicating with assistants.
  3. Safety first knowledge. Understanding gas detectors, pouring and finishing concrete
  4. Installing valve boxes with riser pipes; utilizing metal detection; pinpointing location; verify incoming sewer and water line sizes; digging up locations and install bypass piping; video record job site.
  5. Operate various equipment; inspect vehicles or equipment; maintain equipment; start up equipment, read blueprints.
  6. Send emails, handle banking transactions measure fence locations, make drawing, and handle overtime sheet.
  7. Operate various equipment by gathering keys; inspecting vehicles or equipment; maintaining equipment; and starting up equipment.
  8. Ability to troubleshoot and operate lift station panels and VFDs.

Environmental factors include outdoor conditions; rugged terrain, slippery surfaces, varying weather, including, heat, cold, dry, wet weather. Environmental factors include indoor, flat surface, noise, sitting with occasionally walking and standing.


  1. A minimum of a high school diploma or GED issued from an approved GED Administrator.
  2. Minimum of three years relevant experience.
  3. Must possess and maintain a valid State of Oklahoma Driver's License

The employee is frequently required to pull, push, kneel, bend, squat, crawl, and twist. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
