Description

U.S. Water Services Corporation is a well-established and diverse water and wastewater utility organization specializing in utility maintenance, operations, engineering and construction services. U.S. Water is a fast paced and rapidly expanding company headquartered in New Port Richey, FL 34652 with a staff of over 800 employees in 20 states.

We are looking for an experienced HR Professional to help us on a temporary basis 3 months or longer with:

Provide support to employee supervisors/managers in the review of employee performance and behavior challenges at work. Coach supervisors/managers on employee communication and motivation best practices. Recommend appropriate progressive level of discipline, draft/edit disciplinary action documentation in our Paycom system and help them prepare for a productive disciplinary discussion meeting with the employee.

Identify and review performance and/or behavior circumstances which may require termination. Research and consider alternatives to termination.

Investigate employee complaints, conduct research and make recommendations for next steps.

Research and update company policies and procedures.

Reply to unemployment compensation inquiries.

Review draft annual employee performance reviews, communicate edits/adds with supervisor. Ensure alignment with rating system. Coach supervisors on difficult discussions and best practices to motivate employees to improve performance. Coach supervisors on how to successfully reward and recognize top performers. Compare Performance Review score with corresponding merit pay increase recommendations.

Help complete tasks in other areas of Human Resources as needed.

Qualifications:

HR Certification from SHRM and/or HR Certification Institute.

In lieu of HR Certification, at least 10 years HR experience with specific experience in employee relations and performance management areas.

Experience with and ability to communicate effectively as an internal consultant supporting front line Supervisors, Managers, and Directors.

Experience and ability to research employment laws and translate into effective policies and procedures.

Advanced proficiency with HR/Payroll Systems, such as Paycom and UKG. Working knowledge of MicroSoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
