Faces of U.S. Water: Joseph “Scotty” Soares – A Legacy of Leadership and Growth

In our Faces of U.S. Water series, featured in our quarterly client newsletter, we spotlight the employees who work tirelessly to ensure clean, safe water and reliable wastewater systems for the clients and communities we serve. This quarter, we’re proud to introduce JosephScotty” Soares. Scotty is a Special Projects & Business Development Manager based primarily at U.S. Water’s Nassau Amelia Utilities project in Florida.

Decades of Dedication to Water and Wastewater

With more than 31 years in the water and wastewater industry, Scotty brings a wealth of experience and leadership to U.S. Water. A dedicated team member for over two decades, he currently serves as Special Projects & Business Development Manager, leading projects across Florida and strengthening partnerships that have expanded U.S. Water’s footprint. He also serves as Utility Director for the Florida Governmental Utilities Authority (FGUA), overseeing operations in Nassau and Flagler counties, while managing several private client systems he personally helped bring to U.S. Water.

Holding a Class A Wastewater License and Class C Water License, Scotty’s career includes Scotty’s career includes leadership roles with utility providers as well as experience founding and managing his own utility group. Since joining U.S. Water in 2006 as Regional Manager for Southeast Florida, he has built a reputation as a trusted leader recognized for guiding complex projects, cultivating long-term client relationships, and driving growth through excellence and resilience.

Scotty also appreciates the company’s entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to help expand services by bringing in new clients and projects.

Looking ahead, Scotty hopes to retire at U.S. Water, leaving behind a strong legacy of operational excellence and a team of operators who are well-prepared to carry forward the company’s mission.
