Faces of U.S. Water: Natalie Harvey – Turning Environmental Passion into Infrastructure Impact

At U.S. Water, our success is built on the dedication and expertise of our team members. In our Faces of U.S. Water series, featured in our quarterly client newsletter, we spotlight the employees who work tirelessly to ensure clean, safe water and reliable wastewater systems for the client and communities we serve. This quarter, we’re proud to introduce Natalie Harvey, Construction Project Manager at our Region 3 Construction Office.

Turning Environmental Passion into Practical Solutions for Communities

Natalie’s path into the water and wastewater industry was shaped by a lifelong love of the ocean and marine life. Her academic background in marine biology led to a Master’s thesis in Environmental Engineering, where she analyzed saltwater samples for nutrient and bacteria levels at the Tampa Bay Water Desalination Plant. That experience sparked her interest in water treatment and opened the door to a meaningful and impactful career.

Natalie began her journey at U.S. Water as the Compliance Manager for Region 3, where she managed DEP, SFWMD, EPA, NPDES, and County ERP reports and sampling for local water and wastewater treatment plants. Her work in compliance naturally evolved into project management, particularly on major facility upgrades aimed at increasing capacity and preventing future compliance issues. As Region 3 continued to grow, Natalie became involved in a wide array of local projects, applying her expertise to improve infrastructure across multiple counties.

With seven years of industry experience—five of those with U.S. Water—Natalie brings both technical knowledge and a deep passion for water management to every project. In her role as Construction Project Manager, she is responsible for compiling bid packages, acquiring contracts, coordinating with vendors, scheduling subcontractors, obtaining necessary permits, and keeping municipalities and project engineers informed throughout each stage of construction.

Why U.S. Water?

When asked what she enjoys most about working for U.S. Water, Natalie doesn’t hesitate. “Even though U.S. Water is a large company, it feels like a family. I interact with people at all levels, and we’re constantly relying on each other’s strengths. I love the variety in my work, and I’ve had so many opportunities to try new roles and grow professionally.”

Over the years, U.S. Water has supported her professional growth by offering opportunities to take on new roles, broaden her utility knowledge, and gain hands-on experience in many aspects of the business. That well-rounded exposure has shaped her into a stronger project manager and a more versatile team member.
